Is SoftWash Better Than Pressure Washing?

As temperatures warm up and we’re spending more time outside, you might notice your exteriors could use a good clean. SoftWashing can be an effective outdoor cleaning solution and a superior option to pressure washing.

What is SoftWashing?

SoftWashing gently and effectively cleans surfaces. We use bulk sanitation trucks with highly trained technicians to clean roofs, porches, exteriors, and more.

SoftWashing cleans using low pressure and a mixture of water, and biodegradable chemicals including algaecide, bleach, and surfactants. Our SoftWash system has a 99.9% success rate eliminating bacteria, mold, algae, mildew, and fungi. It lasts up to six times longer than pressure washing at a fraction of the pressure.

It’s similar to pressure washing in that it uses pressure and chemicals to clean surfaces, but the water pressure is much lower and easier on your surfaces. It also leaves behind a disinfecting cleaning solution to continue to clean even after the job is done.

When is SoftWashing a good idea?

It’s a good idea to use SoftWashing on surfaces that are hard to clean and could be damaged by high pressure washing. SoftWashing is recommended for:

  • Exteriors

  • Roof shingles

  • Windows

  • Siding

  • Paint

  • Walls

  • Decks

  • Fencing

  • Screens

  • Wood paneling

  • Playgrounds

  • Patios and porches

  • Pool decking

  • Driveways and sidewalks

  • Awnings

SoftWashing is particularly recommended for cleaning algae from roofs. Algae commonly grows on roofs and can lead to rot that lowers the lifespan of your roof. When SoftWashing is used, algae can be removed without damaging shingles or voiding your warranty.

Is SoftWash better than pressure washing?

Pressure washing can damage and compromise the integrity of surfaces, and potentially even void your warranty. For example, pressure washing a roof can cause granular loss from the intense water pressure. And pressure washing only touches the surface. With SoftWash chemicals, growth and dirt are eliminated on top of and under roof tiles safely without risk of damage to materials.

What chemicals are used to SoftWash?

SoftWashing uses a combination of low pressure and chemicals. With our SoftWash system, we use professional, biodegradable soaps and surfactants combined with bleach and other ingredients including potassium hydroxide. We follow CDC recommended guidelines with the correct amount of bleach, soap, and water to safely sanitize all surfaces. We can adjust settings on the spot depending on your needs.

Although bleach can leave an unpleasant odor, we use a solution that eliminates the bleach odor. After surfaces are clean, we use a final wash soap that leaves a layer of sanitation and prevents the growth of micronutrients.

How long does it take to SoftWash a house?

SoftWash cleaning time depends on the size and condition of your home, weather, and other factors. Expect SoftWashing to take a few hours up to a full day.

How long does SoftWashing last?

Unlike pressure washing, SoftWashing offers long-lasting sanitation and prevention of bacterial growth. SoftWashing benefits can last for several years. We offer a five-year spot-free warranty backed by SoftWash Systems.
