How Termite Colony Infestations Begin
Like any other type of pest, termites need food and shelter to survive. Termites feed on cellulose, which is most commonly found in wood but also boxes, furniture, drywall coverings and even books. To start a new termite colony, termites send winged reproductive swarmers to scout out a new place or they simply forage for food and then stay once they find a suitable place.
